pguariglia Store C1890 ART NOUVEAU STERLING SILVER OVERLAY DECANTER This listing is for a circa 1890 exceptional Art Nouveau period sterling silver, actually 999 pure silver, stoppered decanter. The decanter measures 8 1/2 inches or 22 cm to the top of the stopper. It is signed on the handle "PATENTED 999/1000 FINE" along with the Alvin Silver Co hallmark. This decanter is really the epitome of organic Art Nouveau design. The decanter is covered with an asymmetrical design of leaves along the top. At the bottom of the decanter is another asymmetrical design, this one of plant stalks. Connecting these two designs is a very heavy curved design of sprouts heavy with concealed blossom. The handle is completely covered in silver. All of this overlay is very heavy and substantial. The matching stopper has a hollow glass top. Its silver overlay mimicking that of the decanter. Both the glass and the silver overlay is in excellent condition. There is no damage to either, no cracks and no repairs. An exceptional piece. There is no reserve. Shipping anywhere in the US via UPS Ground with full insurance is $15.00. To Canada with USPS Priority Mail with full insurance is $35.00. International shipping will cost $40.00 by USPS Priority Mail with full insurance.
